Victorinox Ribs - Matte red

Victorinox ribs for 111mm knives (Alpineer, Forester, Picknicker, etc.)

Important: Back side for knife with old safety!

The price is for the front and back side.

• Blocking the big blade

Method to change the ribs:
IMPORTANT use gloves to avoid injury!
Take another knife with a sharp blade that you slide under the rib between the plastic and the metal of the knife (see photo). The space is very tight, as soon as you have succeeded in inserting the blade by a few millimeters, rotate the blade to raise the rib. Several rivets hold the rib against the knife.
To apply a new rib it is advisable to place the knife in a vice (protect it with wooden plates or wrap the knife several times with a cloth. An alternative solution is to place the knife between two wooden boards and hit the wood with a hammer.
It is not advisable to reuse a removed rib; it will hold up but not as well as a new rib.
